Army recruitment rally

Kozhikode: The Army Recruitment Office here will conduct an open recruitment rally for soldiers in various categories on St. Mary's College grounds at Sulthan Bathery in Wayanad district from October 4 to 9.

Men from all districts of the State and Mahe can attend the recruitment for technical, clerk and nursing assistant categories and those from Kasaragod, Kannur, Wayanad, Kozhikode, Malappuram, Palakkad, Thrissur and Mahe for soldier (general duty) and tradesmen, Director, Recruiting, Rajiv Khanna said here on Thursday.

The screening for technical, clerk and nursing assistant categories for candidates from north Kerala is on October 4 and for others on October 5. The screening for soldier general duty and tradesmen for candidates from Wayanad, Kannur, Kasaragod and Kozhikode is on October 6 and for those from Malappuram, Palakkad, Thrissur and Mahe the next day.

The screening for sons of servicemen, ex-servicemen and war widows and National Cadet Corps `C' certificate holders is on October 7.

The candidates should report at 6 a.m. at the venue. They should be between 17 and a half and 23 years of age.

The qualification for appearing for the screening for soldier (technical) is pass in Plus Two with physics, chemistry, maths/biology and English.

For the nursing assistant screening test, qualification needed is pass in Plus Two with the above subjects, barring maths, but with a minimum aggregate of 50 per cent marks and at least 40 per cent for each subject.

The qualification for soldier (clerk) is pass in any Plus Two stream with a minimum of 50 per cent marks in aggregate and at least 40 per cent in each subject.

Candidates who have passed SSLC examination with at least 45 per cent marks in aggregate can take part in the recruitment for soldier (general duty).
