Golden celebration

Onam is not just time for vacation and celebration, as in old times.

It is also time for shopping sprees. Shops in the city have been making quick bucks during the festival sales.

With tough competition, it is natural for shops to try out innovative strategies to woo customers.

Like a jeweller here did this year.

The jeweller made an imitation of pookkalam, but with 101 kg of 916 gold ornaments.

Now, it could be said, it is like adding glitter to colours.
