This Day That Age
Dr. Saifuddin Kitchlew, President of the All-India Peace Council, has advised the people of Pakistan to forget all about Kashmir "as no such issue now existed from the Indian point of view. What is in your possession belongs to you and what is with us is ours," he said in an informal talk with newsmen in Lahore on September 5. Dr. Kitchlew, who headed the Indian delegation to the recent World Peace Council meeting at Stockholm, arrived in Lahore on his way back to Delhi. Strongly opposing the idea of a plebiscite in Kashmir in the present circumstances, he said, "Now that Pakistan has completely aligned herself with the Western bloc, the question of plebiscite in the State does not arise.''
