Dharmapuri: Collector M. Chandrasekaran instructed PWD officials to expedite the development works in Theerthamalai temple in Harur taluk before September 30. Works including construction of an ornamental arch at Rs. 12.50 lakh, installation of solar lamps on the way to the temple at Rs. 2 lakh and renovation of temple hall at Rs.10 lakh were nearing completion. Renovation of Nandhi Mandapam, construction of parapet wall on the footpath of the temple and other concrete works were under progress. The Collector instructed the Superintending Engineer of TNEB to make alternative arrangements to solve the power fluctuation in the temple. The Collector also inspected the Agricultural Marketing Society at Harur. He asked officials to make it hospitable. A fresh batch of Srilankan Tamil refugees was expected to arrive in Dharmapuri district in the next few days, he said.
