Drive to promote road safety

Though Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Tirunelveli Range, Kanhu Charan Mahali, was keen on educating the people on road safety through pamphlets, it was difficult for him to find adequate resources for printing such leaflets with simple caricatures.

And he had planned to approach insurance companies to seek their help in this exercise.

Insurance Week

When the Tirunelveli Division of Life Insurance Corporation of India observed `Insurance Week Celebrations' recently, the company joined hands with the police officer in printing the leaflets carrying messages on road safety.

The officials of LIC, including Senior Divisional Manager K. Swaminathan and the police officers right from Mr. Mahali, distributed the pamphlets to passers-by at Chellapandian traffic island at Vannerpettai.
