Resignation of Minister sought

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: The meeting threw up a surprise in the form of TRS leader V. Prakash demanding resignation of the Minister while Congress MP from Nizamabad Y. Madhu Goud appealed to the Government to take a fresh look at the project.

Mr. Prakash created a flutter by saying that the Minister, inspite of representing Telangana, was a party to the anti-Telangana decisions of the Government on Polavaram, Pulichintala and Pothireddypadu projects. On the other hand, Mr. Goud said the people of Telangana would suffer on account of Polavaram. It was not the TRS alone which had a stake in the project but the people of the region as a whole.

The MP also wanted the Government to seek expert advice before concluding that the project would serve Telangana.
