BHEL in Limca Book

NEW DELHI: Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has entered the 2006 edition of the Limca Book of Records for its contributions towards the power development programmes in the country.

Lauding BHEL's commitment to serve the nation, the record book reflects the company's dominant position in the country's engineering and power plant equipment sector. The record is featured in the book's "Doing India Proud" section.

`NSI website popular'

NEW DELHI: A meeting of the Coordination Committee for Redress of Investors' Grievances on Small Savings was held at Rajendra Bhawan Trust here on Thursday.

National Savings Institute Regional Director Azmat Ali said the NSI's website had become very popular with investors. The meeting was attended by senior officers of nationalised and private banks, representatives from the State Government and authorised agents of welfare associations.

"Dateline Delhi" on DD

NEW DELHI: To provide information on its various projects, the Delhi Development Authority has started an informative programme, "Dateline Delhi", which is telecast every alternate Saturday at 5-15 p.m. on the National Channel of Delhi Doordarshan.

The programme disseminates information on DDA as also the greens, sports facilities and other infrastructure developed by it. It also provides information to land allottees about the procedures and documents required for various transactions with DDA.

Sheila visits Sonia Vihar

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Thursday visited Sonia Vihar water treatment plant to review the preparations for its inauguration in next few days.

Though the water plant started functioning last month, it will be officially dedicated to the citizens of Delhi by the Congress President Sonia Gandhi on September 18. The Rs. 880-crore 140 MGD plant would meet water needs of residents of South, South-West and East Delhi.

Annual Day

NEW DELHI: Maya Academy of Advanced Cinematics (MAAC), which has a 3-D animation and visual effects production house in Mumbai, celebrated its Annual Day at its South Extension centre here this past week. On the occasion, the Academy's students gave a cultural performance. The show began with a choreographed fusion welcome dance and culminated with an award function. The Spirit of MAAC-2006 Award was conferred on Priyanka for her overall performance, while Tajinder Jeet Singh was adjudged "best faculty".
