MADURAI:
The Madurai Corporation's move to shift the city bus bay from the front side of the Mattuthavani integrated bus stand to the main platforms has led to a spate of litigations, both in favour and against the change, before the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court.
The Tamil Nadu Consumer Rights Movement was the first to have approached the court against the decision to shift the bay.
Subsequently, a few traders situated inside the bus stand have filed individual petitions in support of the change.
When the matters came up for hearing before a Division Bench on Thursday, the counsel for TNCRM claimed that the Corporation had shifted the bay to main platforms even as the petition was pending before the Bench.
Hence the Judges directed the Corporation counsel to get instructions and posted the matter, along with other petitions on the issue, to September 12.
