Field-level officers asked to maintain muster rolls with wage seekers signing it regularly

ADILABAD: Collector R. Subba Rao has warned officials of criminal cases for lapses in implementation of the Andhra Pradesh Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (APREGS).

At a meeting of implementation officials of the scheme here on Thursday, he said payment to wage seekers should be made every fortnight without fail.

The Collector sought criminal cases against erring Mandal Parishad Development Officers (MPDOs) and Programme Officers (POs) at field level. He said some complaints regarding discrepancies in payment have come to the notice of the administration.

Maintain muster rolls

From four villages of Boath mandal complaints regarding delay in payment of labour charges to the wage seekers had come to light, Mr. Rao said. Similarly, payment was made on wrong names at Pardi (K) village in Jainad mandal, he added.

He asked field level officers to maintain muster rolls with wage seekers signing it regularly. In the flood-affected villages, the Collector asked officials to maintain sanitation to prevent spread of viral diseases.

Joint Collector A. Dinakar Babu, Asifabad Sub-Collector Bhaskar Katamneni and RDOs were present.
