Suriya-Jyotika wedding off limits to media

Kollywood's most-talked-about wedding, that of actors Suriya and Jyotika, is off limits to the media.

The wedding is to be held at a five star hotel in the city on September 11, with a reception slated for the next day. But now, actor Sivakumar, father of Suriya, says that there will be no formal reception. "We expected a large number of fans of both the artists to come. We felt that it might not be possible to take care of them properly. I discussed the issue with the city police, and dropped the idea of [holding] the reception. The marriage will certainly take place as scheduled. And, a reception or shall we say thanksgiving for the journalists will be held on September 12."

Sivakumar said that no journalist was being invited to the marriage. Mediapersons will have to make do with a press release and photographs that will be sent within an hour of the ceremony. This is not the first time a celebrity is not inviting journalists to his wedding.
