Girl killed in accident

Thiruvananthapuram: A two-year-old girl was killed on Thursday evening after the two-wheeler on which she was travelling along with her parents collided with a KSRTC bus near the Thundam junction in Kariyavattom. The traffic police said Paru, a resident of Kallampally, was knocked down from the vehicle in the impact. She died on the spot. — Staff Reporter

Birth anniversary of Ayyankali

Thiruvananthapuram: The Dalit Unity Centre observed the 144th birth anniversary of Ayyankali by lighting a traditional lamp in front of his life-size portrait at the Secretariat. A memorial lecture on Ayyankali was held at Trivandrum Hotel. The function was inaugurated by C.K. Gopinathan, State general secretary, Indian Dalit Federation. — Staff Reporter
