VIJAYAWADA: The ambience is akin to a coastal village with bamboo decor, fishing nets spread all around, along with aesthetically decorated toys and pleasing to the eye objects. The only missing thing is the blue water of the sea. Keen to spread the culture of eating out among the denizens, Fortune Murali Park launched a three-week-long Coastal India food festival, offering a wide range of cuisine popular in the coastal areas of Tamil Nadu, Goa, Kerala, Andhra and Karnataka.
`Unique concept'
Says general manager of the hotel Mohammad Shoeb: "This is the fifth food festival by our hotel. Earlier, we organised Punjabi, Rajasthani, Chinese and Kebab food festivals and they evoked a good response from food connoisseurs. Coastal festival is a unique concept created by our team. We are offering best quality food with traditional recipes to our valued customers." Mouth-watering dishes like chicken galenha, mutton vindalu, Mangalore fried fish, kodi biryani, Goan dhal along with an assortment of desserts will be served during lunch and dinner everyday at Astral Coffee shop.
Sea food too
"We also offer sea food like stuffed and grilled fish and prawn, which are popular in the coastal region," Mr. Shoeb adds. Though ingredients like rice, coconut, red chilli, curry leaves, fish are common in all the delicacies in the costal region, each dish is cooked in a different manner bringing out the taste and blend of each region. Chefs have prepared an elaborate menu and care has been taken not to repeat the dishes. "What is served for lunch will not be repeated for dinner," says K. Rao, hotel chef.
