Indian hand in Baloch unrest, says Pakistan

Nirupama Subramanian

ISLAMABAD: At least five persons were killed and several injured in a bomb explosion on Friday in Pakistan's Balochistan province. In the capital, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Muhammed Ali Durrani once again insinuated an Indian hand in the Balochistan unrest.

The situation in the province has been tense in the two weeks since the killing of the tribal leader Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti in a military operation. Reports said the bomb went off near a hospital in Rakhni, about 300 km north of Quetta, the provincial capital. Many of the wounded were in critical condition after the blast.

The Minister said the Indian statement on the situation in Balochistan after Nawab Bugti's killing "substantiates the apprehensions of involvement of a foreign hand" in the unrest in the province.
