Letters to the Editor
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has called upon Chief Ministers to take effective steps to remove the feeling of insecurity among the minorities, especially Muslims. While every Indian wedded to the Constitution should ensure that the community does not suffer an adverse image because of the acts of a few, Muslims too should stand up against the fatwas of misguided clerics. They should guard against moves that alienate them from the mainstream.
M.V. Devraj,
The Prime Minister has not only painted a dismal picture of how vulnerable we are to jihadi strikes, but has also warned of decentralised outfits that are waiting for an opportune moment to strike. The threat to our security emanates more from homegrown terrorists than their masters hiding elsewhere. We can definitely fight terrorism effectively with the active participation of the Muslim community.
S. Raghavendra,
