HYDERABAD: Sourav Ganguly impressed during his 86-ball knock of 72 (1x4, 3x6) but it was not good enough to prevent Cricket Association of Bengal from crashing out of the all-India Moin-ud-Dowla Gold Cup cricket tournament at the Gymkhana Grounds here on Friday. Bengal's campaign came to an end against Mumbai despite the team fighting back after conceding an 88-run lead. Mumbai was restricted to 133 for nine in 40 overs in the second essay and CAB had to make 229 in 40 overs. The scores: At Gymkhana: Mumbai 286 for seven and 133 for nine in 40 overs bt Cricket Association of Bengal 191 in 75.4 overs and 181 in 38 overs (Saurav Ganguly 72, Rajesh Varma five for 60). At Uppal: Hyderabad 138 and 184 bt Vidarbha 133 and 171 in 38.5 overs. At NFC: HCA President's XI 228 and 235 for nine in 40 overs (P.S. Niranjan 69, Abhinav Kumar 46) lost to Chemplast 247 and 118 for one in 16.4 overs (M. Ram Kumar 68 not out). At AOC: Maharashtra 276 for seven and 146 in 38.2 overs (Hrishikesh Kanitkar 40 not out) lost to KSCA 353 for nine and 70 for two in 14.5 overs (Gaurav Dhiman 42 not out). At RRC-I: Railways 243 and 196 for seven in 40 overs (Sumit Biswal 48, J.P.Yadav four for 70) bt MRF 299 for nine and 130 in 34.6 overs (Ritham Kundu four for 43). At HMWSSB: Andhra 142 and 168 for eight in 40 overs lost to TNCA Colts 190 and 121 for six in 35.4 overs (C. Hemanth Kumar 45 not out, Laxman Kishore five for 21). At RRC-II: India Cements 247 and 225 for four in 40 overs (J. Madangopal 41, Prasanna 64 not out, S. Sharath 52 not out) drew with Assam 214 (Tejinder Singh 49, K. Saikia 44, Suresh seven for 49). India Cements progressed through first innings lead.
