KOLKATA: Last year's runner-up Karolina Sprem of Croatia and Switzerland's Martina Hingis, currently ranked ninth in the world, will be seen in action in the second edition of the Sunfeast Open tier III WTA event, which will get underway here at the Netaji Indoor Stadium from September 18. A host of other prominent names from the previous edition have been named as direct entries for the main draw, according to the list released by tournament director, Mr. Jaidip Mukerjea on Friday. The rankings are likely to undergo a change after the ongoing US Open but Indian Sania Mirza and Sprem will be the next two names after Hingis. Others players having confirmed their entries are Estonia's Kaia Kanepi and Hungarian Melinda Czink, who was responsible for Mirza's second round exit last year. The other notable names are Yuliana Fedak of Ukraine, Australian Nicole Pratt, Thailand's Tamarine Tanasugarn, Italian Antonella Serra Zanetti, Russian Galina Voskoboeva and Spanish Aranxta Parra Santonja. Out of the three wild cards, two Indians will be getting the wild cards while there will be one special exempt and four qualifiers to complete the draw of 32. The qualifiers will be round of 16 affair, and will start on September 16.
