SRIKAKULAM: In the background of apprehensions about the very survival of Telugu, cultural programme like `Paadanaa Telugu Paata' will go a long way in propagating the varied aspects of the language and its richness, according to Minister for Revenue and Relief Dharmana Prasada Rao. Inaugurating the programme organised by the Madras Telugu Academy at Bapuji Kalamandir here on Friday, the Minister said the Government was making efforts to get the status of ancient language for Telugu. Mr. Prasada Rao said he would extend all cooperation to the efforts to popularise Telugu. Collector V.N. Vishnu, who presided over the meeting, listed the efforts of the administration to popularise Telugu. Municipal Chairperson M.V. Padmavathi and other were present.
Medical camp
Arrangements are in place for the proposed free mega medical camp at the Government headquarters hospital here on Saturday. Specialists from the KGH in the fields of cardiology, nephrology, urology etc will attend the camp and required medicines will be given free of cost after the tests. Besides allopathic medicines, homeo and ayurvedic medicines would also be given to patients.
