MADURAI: Rajapalayam, home for one of the most popular indigenous breed of dogs, is all set to host an anti-rabies vaccination awareness campaign on September 17. With dog breeding becoming a necessity for some and a hobby for others, such campaigns have become essential. Hence, the Veterinary University Training and Research Centre at Rajapalayam, the oldest among the 17 peripheral centres of Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, has come forward to organise the campaign. The first 125 dog-owners who approach the centre in person and register themselves can get their pets vaccinated free of cost . A workshop on dairy cattle management would also be held on the day at Gandhi Kalaimandram. Virudhunagar District Collector and Vice-chancellor of TANUVAS would participate.
