Malayalee Club celebrates Onam

CHENNAI: The Malayalee Club in the city celebrated Onam by conducting various programmes associated with the festival.

Sports and games events were held, and winners given prizes. A `Ona chantha' (fair), `pookalam' (floral pattern display) and `sadhya' (traditional feast) were also organised in view of the festival celebrations.

Leena Nair, civil servant, formally opened the fair. M. Nanda Govind, club president, extended Onam greetings to all Malayalees in Chennai on the occasion.
