Coordinated efforts paid off: Home Ministry
Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI:
The Union Home Ministry says Friday's seizure of a huge cache from an arms dump, suspected to belong to naxal cadres in Mahbubnagar district of Andhra Pradesh, is a result of "coordinated efforts" in dealing with naxalism.
Expressing satisfaction and relief at the recovery of arms and rocket launchers, the Ministry spokesman said here it showed that naxal cadres had amassed arms and ammunition but the alertness of the special police force in Andhra Pradesh led to the seizure, preventing any violent incident.
Further investigations could provide crucial leads to the supply chain.
More initiatives
More anti-naxal operations and initiatives on the development front would be launched once the monitoring framework in States affected by naxal violence was put in place, the spokesman said.
