HYDERABAD: A real estate agent Mohd. Mustaq, 38, who was prime accused person in a murder case reported three years ago at Rajendranagar, was stabbed to death near his house at Shalibanda late on Thursday night.

The victim was returning home at around 11.45 p.m. in his jeep when a group of unidentified persons intercepted his vehicle, some 500 yards away from his house. They lunged at him with knives and inflicted multiple injuries even as he shouted for help, the police said.

Locals rushed him to Osmania General Hospital and later he was shifted to a corporate hospital.

He succumbed to his injuries at around 2.30 a.m. on Friday. In 2003, the Rajendranagar police arrested Mustaq on the charge of killing one Ghouse Khan over some financial dispute.

Victim's younger brother Mohd. Masood told the police that members of Ghouse Khan's family or friends could be behind the killing.
