Alleged conman pays `glowing' tribute to Shikha Goel

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: It was a compliment from the least expected quarters.

Mohd. Mairaj Rahman, 25, arrested by Begumpet police on charge of cheating and molestation, on Friday said that after film star Kareena Kapoor, North Zone DCP Shikha Goel was the prettiest woman he ever saw, embarrassing the latter.

Unmindful of his arrest for allegedly luring a woman with promises of a career in films, Rahman went on to say that he would produce a film in future. "I will invite DCP madam for the film's inaugural function," he said even as the DCP burst into peals of laughter at a press meet.

Last October, Mumbai police arrested Rahman from Asifnagar in the city for making crank calls and sending obscene SMS messages to film stars Kareena Kapoor, Poonam Dhillon and some others. A few months before that, he allegedly duped a woman Madhubala promising her a heroine's role opposite none other than Abhishek Bachchan.

A week ago, he played his trick again on Mumbai girl R.K. Divya, 21, claiming that he was producing a film with Mani Ratnam as director. After collecting her passport and Rs. 20,000 for processing American visa for the film shoot, he disappeared. He was picked up on Friday at Secunderabad railway station on a tip-off.
