NIZAMABAD: The week-long `urs' (celebration) of Khaja Sabas Ali dargah began amidst pomp and gaiety at Yellareddy mandal headquarter in the district on Saturday. A large number of people irrespective of caste and creed participated in the procession that was taken out from the Mandal Revenue Office to the dargah. Youth danced with gusto to drumbeats throughout the procession. A camel bedecked with a holy green flag of the shrine was taken to the dargah after `fateh' at the Mandal Revenue Office. Presentation of `fateh' at the revenue office had been continuing from a long time since the Asaf Zahis' rule. A week-long jatara would be conducted during the urs period. Devotees would participate in large numbers and offer prayers at the dargah. Qawwalis and mushairas will also be held on the occasion.
