MUMBAI: Air Deccan has announced the launch of new flights between Hubli and Mumbai. Flights on this route will commence operations on October 30 and a 48-seater ATR 42-500 aircraft will be deployed on the route. Cap. G. R. Gopinath, Managing Director, Air Deccan, said, "We have been operating for three years to Hubli and high loads (about 81 per cent) on this sector coupled with demand from passengers for more connectivity to this region encouraged us to launch the new flight.'' Further, Air Deccan is working closely with the tourism department to open up Bellary Airport and will commence operations from there. Connectivity to Bellary will open up access to the heritage site of Hampi.
