LUCKNOW: The Central Bureau of Investigation has asked the Uttar Pradesh Government to provide security to the remaining two witnesses in BJP MLA Krishnanad Rai murder case following the death of another witness under suspicious circumstances.
Three of the five witnesses in the murder case were killed or died. While Manoj Kumar
CBI sleuths investigating the case have reached Ghazipur to inquire into the death of Manoj Gaur, who according to the local police died a natural death. However, the CBI suspects the hand of an MLA in the death, they said.
The CBI has written to the Government that it should provide security to the remaining two witnesses.
It has also sought details and tapes of conversation which was intercepted by special task force personnel during the course of their investigations in the plot to kill the Congress MP from Varanasi, Rajesh Mishra, officials here said. PTI
