Fact-finding team to probe attack on Dalits

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: Condemning the attack on Dalits allegedly by dominant caste Hindus at Killa Jafargadh village in Haryana earlier this month, the National Campaign on Dalit Human Rights (NCDHR) -- a platform of Dalit activists and academics formed to address the issue of discrimination and exclusion faced by Dalits -- organised a high-level fact-finding team to look into the incident.

The team, which studied the atrocity committed against Dalits and listened to the victims, besides meeting the District Magistrate, senior government officials and local political leaders, has submitted a preliminary report.
