Railway Minister visits Kauna

CHENNAI: Union Minister of State for Railways R. Velu on Saturday visited Kauna, a special education centre for exceptional children, run by the ICF Women's Organisation.

Chairperson of the centre Devi Goundan, wife of ICF General Manager P. Raja Goundan, listed the various activities of the centre. Lauding the activities of the centre, Mr. Velu announced a donation of Rs.1 lakh to the organisation from the Railway Ministry. The Minister also presented television sets to railway hospitals, and launched a vermiculture project.

Ms. Malliga Velu presented cheques to two patients, and to two meritorious students who were in need of assistance.
