Two houses burgled

Bangalore: Two houses were burgled in the city on Friday.

Ornaments and other valuables worth Rs. 40,000 were taken away from the house of Gopala Krishna at Manuvarayapalya in Hebbal police station limits. The incident occurred when Krishna had gone for an evening walk. When he returned around 8.30 p.m. he found that somebody had entered his house and taken away gold ornaments, silver articles and other valuables.

In the other incident, ornaments and cash were taken away from the house of Rafiq in Lingarajapuram.

The incident occurred when he had gone to a mosque for evening prayers.

Arrested

The Central Crime Branch police (CCB) arrested two persons on the charge of involvement in illegal betting in Chamarajpet. The police recovered Rs. 2.7 lakh in cash from them.

On a tip-off, the CCB police raided a flat on the second floor of a building, behind a hospital, in Chamarajpet 5th Main Road.
