Belgaum: Raghavendra Pujar, social worker, has been appointed as the director of Special Olympics Bharat - Karnataka. According to a press release issued here on Sunday, Mr. Pujar, who runs an association for mentally-challenged children in the field of sports and skill development, has been instrumental in getting 150 medals at the zonal level sports competitions for such children held in Hubli in 2004. His appointment to the international organisation was in recognition of his contribution to sports, organisation's State unit president Vijayakanr said.
