Unnecessary row

The Vande Mataram row has been blown out of proportion. The debate only helped in kindling latent communal tensions. The warring sides have, of course, achieved their objective of further alienating the communities. Nobody stands to lose except our beloved India. Let us hope the common man, the real India, will realise the true motives of the riot mongers in triggering such a conflict.

Jims Andrews,
Mecheri, Kerala

Anup J. Nambiar,
Coimbatore

Murali Saranadhi,
Chennai
