Former Supreme Court judges felicitated

HYDERABAD: Five former Supreme Court judges hailing from Andhra Pradesh were presented "Nyaya Ratna" awards in recognition of their services by Union Minister of Law and Justice H.R. Bharadwaj on Saturday.

Those felicitated were M. Jagannadha Rao, K. Jayachandra Reddy, K. Ramaswamy, S.S.M. Quadri and P. Venkatarami Reddy. Organised by Rasamayi, a city-based cultural organisation, the function also saw the release of the book "Ayyappu Reddy Kandaalu" by former Law Minister and MP E. Ayyapu Reddy. Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy released the book.

Dr. Reddy said that all the five former Judges had done yeoman service and brought a good name for the State while in service. Union Minister of State for Mines Subbarami Reddy said that from next year he would see to it that such functions were organised to recognise good work by former judges of the High Court too.
