DEHRA DUN : The Bharatiya Janata Party will take steps to eliminate all terror modules affecting India from within and outside if it returns to power, according to BJP president Rajnath Singh. At a press conference here on Sunday, Mr. Singh accused the Union Government of having made a mockery of the nation's security by adopting a soft line towards anti-nation elements by repealing POTA and not taking a tough stand on the issue of terrorism with Pakistan and Bangladesh. "We initiated the peace process with Pakistan. This process has been totally derailed now with the Prime Minister and his colleagues failing to muster courage to tell Pakistan that there could be further peace initiatives only after it eliminated the terror modules operating from its soil," he said. The BJP was against a meeting between Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and President Pervez Musharraf in Havana, Cuba, as such meetings, he said, had no value till Pakistan was made to see that terrorism was trying to create chaos in both the economies. Mr. Singh accused Congress president Sonia Gandhi of having sent a wrong signal to divisive forces by abstaining from the Vande Matram programme of her party.
The party will organise programmes at major martyrs' memorials between December 26 and January 26, 2007. Senior leaders will lead the public in paying tributes to those who helped India gain freedom.
