CHENNAI:
Nearly 1,000 school students, including children from lower primary classes, took part in a drawing competition organised by the Wildlife wing of the State Forest department on Sunday.
Ashish Srivastava, Wildlife Warden, Chennai, said the competition was part of the wildlife week celebrations observed during the first week of October every year. In the city the competition was conducted in nine centres.
The theme of the competition was various forms of wildlife.
Next Sunday, the department will conduct the District-level elocution and quiz competitions at the audio-visual hall of the Children's Park, Guindy.
