Kapur finishes fifth; Scott retains title

Singapore: Shiv Kapur finished fifth, while seniorcompatriot Jyoti Randhawa held a share of the eighth spot after the fourth and final round of the $3 million Barclays Singapore Open was cancelled following thunderstorm here on Sunday.

Tropical thunderstorm hit Sentosa Golf Club's Serapong Course, forcing the organisers to scrap the fourth round and title holder Adam Scott and South African Ernie Els, tied at three-day total of eight-under 205, featured in a play-off to decide the issue.

Play-off

In the play-off, the Australian successfully defended his title, winning the three-hole play-off (16, 17, 18). Scott birdied the 18th hole to beat Els after both players parred the first two holes at the 16th and 17th.

S.S.P. Chowrasia and Arjun Singh shared the 19th spot at three-over 216, while Jeev Milkha Singh, the only Indian to be under-par on Saturday, finished tied 25th after rounds of 71, 76, 70.

Jeev was joined by veteran Gaurav Ghei who also totalled 217 over the last three days. — UNI
