Ebrahim, Gill share honours

Coimbatore: Akbar Ebrahim of Team NK Racing and Gaurav Gill of Team Wallace Sports shared a race win each in the Formula Rolon Chevrolet class in the second leg of the JK Tyre national racing championship at the Kari Motor Speedway, here on Sunday.

In race 1, Gill made it to the podium at the expense of the experienced Ebrahim. The latter made a clean start and that spelt trouble for the rest. But Gill kept his car busy and even threatened to snatch lead.

The results: FLGB Swift: Race 1 (14 laps): 1. Saran Vikram (17:20.124 secs); 2. Ajay Kini (17:21.832 secs); 3. Karthick Shankar (17:23.460 secs). Race 2 (15 laps): 1. Saran (18:21.789 secs); 2. Ashwin Sunder (18:29.910 secs); 3. Ajay (18:30.655 secs).

FLGB Hyundai: Race 1 (15 laps): 1.Rayomand Banajee (18:48.858 secs); 2. Ajay (18:50.156 secs); 3. Saahil Shelar (19:02.982 secs). Race 2 (7 laps): 1. Ajay (8:50.438 secs); 2. Rayomand (8:50.733 secs); 3. Sudarshan Rao (8:58.688 secs).

Formula Rolon Chevrolet: Race 1 (10 laps): 1. Gaurav Gill (12:03.9 secs), 2. Gaurav Dallal (12:05.6 secs); 3. Rayomand. Race 2: 1. Akbar Ebrahim (11:55.610 secs); 2. Gill (11:59.057 secs); 3. Ameya Walavalkar (12:00.404 secs).
