KARIMNAGAR: Come festival season, it is time for exhibitions and bumper sales of clothes and household articles. Currently, the handloom exhibition-cum-sale at SRR Kalyana Mandapam in Karimnagar town has become the latest attraction. In order to encourage handloom weavers and their products, the District Handlooms and Textile Department, in collaboration with the Development Commissioner for Handlooms, had opened the exhibition on September 5. It will be on till September 14. A total of 48 stalls has been set up by weavers of 16 districts. With festivals like Dasara and Diwali nearing, there are encouraging sales of Gadwal, Dharmavaram, Venkatagiri, Pochampalli silk sarees and Chirala dress material. Besides, there are other materials such as diwanchi, bed sheets, shatranj and door curtains.
