Special Correspondent
Srikakulam: Senior TDP leader and Srikakulam MP Kinjarapu Yerrannaidu on Sunday said that down grading of security to party president and former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was a "crude attempt" of Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy to restrict his movements in the State and ensure that failures of his Government were not exposed. Decisions on issues like security to leaders of the stature of Mr. Chandrababu Naidu would not be taken without the knowledge of the Chief Minister, he said. Speaking to newsmen at his office here, he pointed out to the extensive visits of Mr. Chandrababu Naidu and the threats he faced. The response to the visits were not to the liking of the Congress and the Chief Minister, he said. The actions of the State Government were not in tune with the assurances of the Prime Minister on the issue, he said.
