Rallies to mark Telangana struggle anniversary

HYDERABAD:
The CPI State council will organise cultural programmes and cycle rallies in Karimnagar, Warangal, Nalgonda and Ranga Reddy districts from September 11 to 17 to mark the anniversary of the Telangana armed struggle.
K. Narayana, party secretary, said in a press release on Sunday that 59 youths would take part in the rallies covering 675 km, starting from the memorial of Doddi Komaraiah, the first martyr of the struggle, at Kadivendi. They would be led by G. Eshwaraiah, general secretary of AIYF State unit.
K. Srujan Kumar, president of the unit, and P. Sambasiva Rao, general secretary, Praja Natya Mandali, will lead the cultural troupes that will accompany the rallyists. The rallies will reach the Telangana martyrs' memorial here at 11 a.m. on September 17.
