NALGONDA: The II town police on Saturday booked a case against the leader of a teachers' union and a Government employee and launched investigation into their role in an alleged scam in the appointment of teachers in the district. According to II town Sub-Inspector E.Sreenivasa Reddy, a case has been booked against the Andhra Pradesh Upadhaya Sangham district leader Anji Reddy and the Mandal Literacy Officer Saleem on the basis of a written complaint filed by the District Education Officer P.Laxma Reddy. In his complaint, the DEO mentioned that he had received complaints from some candidates over phone about the alleged role of the duo in collecting money to ensure teacher jobs. "We have launched an investigation on the basis of the complaint and we are also verifying the bank accounts of the duo," the SI said.
