Sanskrit "should be revived"

CHENNAI : Speakers at the Sanskrit Day function, organised at Madras Sanskrit College on Sunday, stressed the importance of reviving the ancient language for future generations to understand Indian culture. The chief guest, R. Natarajan, former secretary, Government of Tamil Nadu, stated that the Sanskrit language stands for humility. S. Krishnamurthi Sastrigal and Seshachala Sharma, both Sanskrit scholars were honoured on the occasion. They were among those nominated for the Presidential Certificate of Honours for the Year 2006.
