BANGALORE: Five persons allegedly kidnapped a 62-year-old real estate dealer and murdered him near Kempayyana Palya in Bidadi police station limits of Bangalore Rural district on Saturday. The police said Lakshmi Narasimha Babu, the victim, received a call on his mobile phone asking him to go near National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences in connection with a business proposition. He took his car to go to the spot indicated by the callers. When he reached the place, the five persons got into the car and asked Babu to drive on. They took him to Bairamangala-Harohalli Road Junction and asked him to stop the car. They then assaulted him with sharp weapons and fled. The police, who got information of the incident, came to the spot and shifted Babu to a private hospital. Babu died in the hospital. Based on the description given by those who witnessed the incident, the police have arrested Manjunath (22) and Girish (20). The police are on the look out for others involved in the crime. The police suspected business rivalry to be the reason for the murder.
