NEW DELHI: The South-West Delhi claim to have recovered stolen jewellery worth Rs. 30,000 and four country-made firearms from the possession of 10 people who have been arrested from different parts of the district during the past week. In the first case, the Anti Auto-Theft Squad received a tip-off that some persons with criminal backgrounds would assemble in a park at R.K. Puram. Subsequently, a trap was laid and the accused were overpowered. The police recovered three country-made firearms from them. During interrogation, the accused were identified as Afsal, Dilshad, Habib and Jahid. They allegedly confessed to their involvement in highway robberies. They mainly targeted those passing by Meerut highway road. The Special Staff also arrested two persons, Rahul Dhamija and Dushyant Lamba, after a stolen mobile phone and knives were recovered from their possession at Delhi Cantonment. In the third case, Kabir Bahadur was arrested at Vasant Kunj for his alleged involvement in theft cases. The other three accused, Amit, Kamlesh and Sunil, were arrested after a country-made firearm and knives were recovered from them at Kapashera.
