This Day That Age
Egypt on September 10 appealed to the UN and all Governments for a peaceful solution of the Suez dispute by the creation of a negotiating body representing all Canal users and also "different views" on the issue. In a note released in Cairo, Egypt said the negotiating body could review the 1888 Constantinople Convention which guarantees the Canal as an international waterway.
