No construction to be allowed on Bangalore Palace premises

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: The Karnataka Government has decided not to allow activities at Bangalore Palace that do not comply with the conditions stipulated in the Bangalore Palace Acquisition Act, and the conditions and other norms pointed out in the interim order of the Supreme Court in that context.

In a press release issued here on Monday, the Government said that its decision was an effort to implement the Supreme Court's orders issued on April 30, 1997, and the related interim orders issued on September 14,1998, and January 25, 2001, effectively.

In compliance with the court's orders and observations, no construction, including semi-permanent structures, activity would be allowed on the palace premises, the release said.
