Course on `low-cost balanced diets'

VISAKHAPATNAM: The department of social work of A.M.A.L. College in Anakapalle is conducting a weeklong certificate course on "preparation of low cost balanced diets".

Two youth groups - a student youth group and a non-student youth group are formed and training is imparted simultaneously as some people in the suburbs of Anakapalle have been identified as suffering from malnutrition, which would be dealt with in a phased manner.

College correspondent Saragadam Jagadeesh inaugurated the course. Director of Food and Nutrition department M.R. Venkateswaralu, college principal Buddha Balaji Rao and vice-principal Buddha Apparao participated.

Head of social work P. Narasimha Rao said youth development through social awareness was the main theme of social work education in the college .
