Non-bailable warrant against Sadhu Yadav

PATNA: The Vigilance Bureau here has decided to send a special police team to Delhi to execute the non-bailable arrest warrant issued by a special vigilance court against the RJD MP Annirudh Prasad alias Sadhu Yadav.

The warrant was issued against Mr. Yadav for allegedly forging documents to justify transfer of money into his account from an accused in the flood relief scam.

Also in focus was the JD(U) MLA and strongman Anant Singh against whom an FIR has been filed on the directive of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar when shop-owners complained to him that the former was threatening them to vacate their premises. The Kotwali police station has registered the case against Anant Singh and his goons.

The vigilance judge R.N. Prasad issued the non-bailable warrant when the bureau pressed charges of forgery against Mr. Yadav, brother-in-law of Railway Minister Lalu Prasad.

The bureau maintained that the claim of Mr. Yadav that he had bought a vehicle (Opel Astra) from Sumi Ranjan Jena of Delhi was false as that vehicle happened to be hypothecated to the bank from which loan was obtained for its purchase.

As a corollary, the vigilance deduced that Mr. Yadav could not have resold the vehicle to Bhagwan Lal Jha, father of the kingpin in the flood relief scam case, from whose account Rs. 6 lakh had been transferred to Mr. Yadav's account.

The Vigilance accused Mr. Yadav of forging the ownership transfer papers in 2004 in conspiracy with the then District Transport officer of Patna, Brijraj Rai, who has since been taken into custody on grounds of indulging in malpractices.
