NEW DELHI: The Delhi Government has decided to extend the 10 per cent power subsidy for the consumers all over the Capital till September 30. The Cabinet would take a further decision on the issue of subsidy after the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) issues the new tariff order that is expected to come out anytime. Power Minister Haroon Yusuf said on Monday that the power subsidy had been extended till the end of this month, as a week's time is required for implementation and studying of the new tariff order. The Delhi Government has come under a lot of pressure from the party leaders, citizens' elected representatives and even a faction of the Residents' Welfare Associations (RWAs) for continuing with the power subsidy component introduced last year in view of the poor performance of the private power distribution companies in the Capital.
