Drive against autorickshaw meters

The Department of Legal Metrology will conduct a drive to check and recalibrate autorickshaw meters from Tuesday to Thursday. The drivers and owners of the autorickshaws having defective meters will be fined. People can lodge their complaints with the department on ph. 22207750, 22284917.

Human rights counselling

South India Cell for Human Rights Education and Monitoring (SICHREM) will provide free human rights counselling and legal assistance from Monday to Friday between 3.30 and 5.30 p.m.

Special diabetes treatment camp

Prakruthi Jeevana Kendra will be conducting special diabetic treatment camp between September 15 and 23. The camp will be held on its premises from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 5.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. For details, call ph. 23369234 and 23349755.

Pranic healing

Sri Vaibhava Pranic Healing Centre will conduct a three-day free pranic healing programme for AIDS, cancer, Parkinsons and other aliments between September 13 and 15. The programme will be held on its premises in RPC Layout. For details, call 9986765598.

Display of books

British Library will be displaying 200 latest books in fiction on its premises in Prestige Takt, Kasturba Road Cross, from September 11. The display will be held between 10.30 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. till September 23.

Phone-in programme

Minister for Agriculture Bandeppa Kashempur will take part in the Akashavani Bangalore's phone-in programme on Tuesday between 9.30 p.m. and 10.30 p.m. People having problems and grievances about agriculture can call 22370477.

Applications invited

The University of Agricultural Sciences , Bangalore, has invited applications for B. Tech course in agricultural engineering and September 19 is the last date for walk-in interviews for candidates. The intake for the course is 25 students and 10 students for postgraduate degree. The Department of Agricultural Engineering offers B. Tech., course of eight semesters since 1996. The department is offering two M. Tech. Courses in Post-Harvest Process and Food Engineering and Soil and Water Conservation Engineering. Candidates secured pass marks in Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by CET Cell and in pre-university examination are eligible to apply or walk-in interview.
