NEW DELHI: A Delhi court on Monday extended the police remand for socialite Bina Ramani for two days. It also allowed the police to take her to Goa to recover the originals of documents she had allegedly forged to claim ownership of `Once Upon A Time,' a restaurant-cum-bar in south Delhi. It was at the restaurant, also known as Tamarind Court, that model Jessica Lal was shot dead on April 30, 1999, after she refused to serve liquor Manu Sharma as the bar closed for the day. Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kamini Lau extended the police remand when counsel for the police said they seized from Ms. Ramani's residence here a printout, which said all documents had been transferred to Goa. The prosecution further submitted that the accused was not cooperating in the investigation, and her lawyers, relatives and friends were interfering. Ms. Lau directed the police to take Ms. Ramani to Goa by air and produce her before the court on September 13.
