Sun Micro launches Coimbatore operations

COIMBATORE: Sun Microsystems launched its operations in Coimbatore on Tuesday by entering into a Strategic Regional Partner (SRP) agreement with Accel Frontline Ltd. for market growth and expansion. According to Sudhir Nayar, Director-Partner Sales, Sun Microsystems, the company will look at the manufacturing, education and research and healthcare sectors, apart from the large number of small and medium businesses in and around Coimbatore. He said the company had identified 18 tier III cities and town, including Coimbatore, for expansion this year through the SRP model. It would identify partners for each region and conduct training and enabling sessions for the partners to represent Sun's business in these regions.
